Race One: BMW ORACLE Racing ready for 'Take Two'.

On a clear and very cold morning in Valencia, the BMW ORACLE Racing team is preparing to head out for the first race of the 33rd America’s Cup Match. This is the second attempt to start racing after Monday’s efforts were abandoned due to unsuitable conditions.

The Race Committee informed the teams this morning that there will be no start before 14:00 CET (08:00 EST, 05:00 PST).

After strong west winds overnight, the breeze is forecast to ease significantly this morning, before a gentle easterly establishes itself this afternoon.

"The most optimistic forecast says that if there is a chance, it will be late in the afternoon in an easterly wind," explained navigator Matteo Plazzi (ITA) this morning.

"We’ve been having race delays for the past two years! So a few more hours doesn’t matter. But we want to go racing. We know that it will be hard to fit in a 20-mile leg with decent breeze. But we are happy that the Race Committee is waiting for good conditions. We don’t want to gamble."

The crew list for BMW ORACLE Racing for Race One remains unchanged from Monday:
