We understand the Alinghi protest will be heard on shore later today. There is speculation it relates to the proposed format of the event final against Emirates Team New Zealand. It is unlikely to have an impact on the result of the Challenger Final Series. That concludes our Live Ticker coverage. We thank you for your interest. The further results of the series will be posted on this site.

10:48

Alinghi have crossed the line to claim a 2-0 victory in the Challenger Final of the Louis Vuitton Pacific Series. The winning margin was 67 seconds. Alinghi crossed the finish line flying a red flag which indicates a technical protest against the Race Committee. We are not sure what the issue is.

10:45

The yachts are halfway down the final run, with Alinghi continuing to hold a significant lead over BMW ORACLE Racing.

10:40

Alinghi lead around the windward mark by 58 seconds. Both yachts are heading to the finish line on port gybe.

10:36

Alinghi continues to control the windward leg, holding an eight length lead. Both yachts are on starboard tack heading left. BMW ORACLE Racing has just tacked onto port and split tacks.

10:29

Alinghi elect to round the right hand end of the leeward gate. BMW ORACLE Racing follow around the same end, trailing by 38 seconds.

10:26

Alinghi is holding a lead of eight boatlengths with the yachts about halfway down the first run.

10:25

Both yachts progressed down the run on port gybe for several minutes. Then they gybed simultaneously onto starboard and began heading back into the centre of the course.

10:20

Alinghi led around the first windward mark after BMW ORACLE Racing had to put in two extra tacks. The delta at the windward mark was 28 seconds. BMW ORACLE Racing did an excellent spinnaker set and immediately gave chase.

10:15

Both yachts are sailing a long drag race on starboard tack with BMW ORACLE Racing to windward and behind Alinghi. BMW ORACLE Racing are doing everything they can to keep close to Alinghi in order to be in a position to attack on the downwind leg. BMW ORACLE Racing have now tacked away on port, while Alinghi continues to head towards the port tack layline on starboard.

10:10

Coming off the startline, both yachts tacked onto port with Alinghi to windward and ahead. They are both heading straight out towards the right hand side of the track with Alinghi holding a lead of two boatlengths.

10:08

Good start to Alinghi. They held BMW ORACLE Racing out beyond the starboard tack layline before the start and then peeled off for the gun, hitting the line and speed and leaving BMW ORACLE Racing to follow.

10:06

Very aggressive pre-start, with both yachts doing tight turns deep in the box towards the right hand side of the start area.

10:02

BMW ORACLE Racing entered from the favoured starboard end and charged directly at Alinghi, forcing the Swiss team into an early dial-up. BMW ORACLE Racing did not dial up but ducked behind Alinghi and set up to leeward and behind, with both yachts on port.

Greetings Race Fans. Today the tension is high as we head into a high-stakes battle against Alinghi in the Challenger Final of the Louis Vuitton Pacific Series. Adding to the drama, the weather is threatening, with heavy cloud over the race area, winds in the 15 - 17 knot range and forecast to build to 25 to 30 knots later in the day. With Alinghi holding a 1 - 0 advantage after that come from behind win yesterday, BMW ORACLE Racing must win the next two matches to progress to the event final against Emirates Team New Zealand. Sit tight, it is all about to begin.
